Porn and Masturbation

I know that in this day and age the world is showing us more and more that porn is okay. We are able to see anything and everything with a click of a button or by pulling up an app on our phones. Porn is everywhere. Every day new sites go up that fuel a sinful world. I have found first hand how hard it is to stay pure in a world where just something simple can trigger a desire to get just that little bit more; knowing full well that in doing so you are hurting yourself more than you ever should. Then you take it to the next level when just looking at porn isn't enough. You want more, but you don't want anyone to know. You get your quick fix by masturbating. It is your mind thinking about things you see and trying to get everything you can out of the sin. At first it feels good to your flesh, but after you feel even worse than ever. Have you ever been walked in while in the act of masturbation? What does that person think of you, of your values and of your trust? (you were hiding it) What if someone was in the room every time you looked at porn or masturbated? What would their reaction be toward you? Well if you didn't know God is there with you. Ouch town. Yeah God saw every thing you saw. Every degrading thing that you did to yourself. Oh and he see what you are thinking... did you think about that? So why do we do this thing that is so destructive to us? My reason was because I was looking for something I couldn't have. My thoughts were, "it's not the real thing so it is okay." That is Satan talking and spitting lies all over you. He knows that you are weak and he wants to find that weakness and hit it hard trying to cause you to fall and once fallen he kicks you and tries to keep you down. The thing he doesn't want is for you to call out to God; ask for forgiveness for everything. In that small cry you reach out your hand and God takes it and lifts you up. With His other hand He throws Satan away. God shows you the path that he wants you to follow. It is going to be a up hill battle, with "shortcuts" that turn out to be a place that Satan with find you again. All the while God is standing right there calling out to you to come back and all you need is to reach out again and he will pull you back on to the straight and narrow. God want you to be victorious over these sins. Call on to him and you will be free. God Bless

Being LED by HIS SPIRIT

Being led is really about surrender, submitting a wish, a thought, an action, YOUR LIFE  to something or someone.  Until you make a conscious heartfelt  choice otherwise, you are being led by your old, unrenewed way of thinking.  Why do I say “Heartfelt”?  This all comes down to YOU!!!  No matter  what else you say, or how easy it may be to point the finger at someone or something else.  It all comes down to you  the choices and the actions that you always make, built  upon the true beliefs that are reflected in your dominate thoughts and in the words that you perpetually  speak.

No one else can think for you, feel for you (or more accurately, feel JUST like you do about whatever it is), or do your push-ups!!!  If you want to lose weight, you need to control what YOU put into your mouth and change the way that you move your body, no one else can do it for you.  It’s the same way with being led, who you surrender to determines the choices that your make.  The degree of your heartfelt commitment determines the amount and quality of energy that you will give to seeing your choices come to life.

YOU -- AND ONLY YOU  -- ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN PUT THE ENERGY INTO YOUR IDEAS, YOUR CARES, AND YOUR DESIRES.  YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN LIVE THE DREAMS THAT GOD PUT INTO YOUR HEART!!!

Here’s where it gets tough you have to allow the truth into your heart, no matter how painful that it feels.  Because only TRUTH – LIFE HIMSELF  --  can truly heal, mend, nurture, care for, and love that painful emptiness that feels like a hot knife being slowly dragged across your very being.  No matter what you say, your actions have shown the world the truth, evident by the amount of pain or joy, bills or money, tears or smiles that you have left behind you.

Being led is the surrender of  our unspoken belief is that no one can/will take care of us better than we will ourselves.  This is where we come face to face with one of Satan’s greatest lies, “That God doesn’t want you to have the best in life!”.

What does the fruit of your choices, your life tell to the world?   Is it a story that makes you want to laugh, to cry, or duck your head in shame, humiliation and regret. The values of what you are allowing to lead your life are the foundation of your choices.

If  you want to change your life, start by changing  your choices.  What are you submitting to, being led by?  Do you truly want change enough that you would die for it, to give your life for it.  How much of a price was Jesus willing to pay for you to have this dream, HIS DREAM, inside of your heart, He Died For It.

Jesus went to the cross in order to supply you with the authority and resources to fulfill that dream that you have buried, just like the guy in the story about the talents.  Thank God that Jesus left a living example for us to follow.

This is, of course, easier said, then done.  The problem comes in with the truth that most of our present choice gives us some sort of emotional pay-off.  It’s not so much the result that we don’t want to let go of, but the comfort zone that our emotional pay-offs keep us locked  up in.  Too many of us would rather dwell in a comfort zone of the known, even if the end result (of just staying in your comfort zone) leads to killing, stealing or destroying the very things that we claim to want to protect instead of facing the fear of the unknown.

This is where the deception of Satan comes in.  There is a SPIRIT of fear that we allow to drive our thinking.  This spirit of fear attacks our perception and our imagination.  Twisting a whole lie around a nugget of truth.  But the very energy that many of us call fear is really the energy that God has placed in us to help us to get over the hard spots, the obstacles  in life.  Walls, barriers, strongholds that we get to exercise our power and authority over as heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus.  Walls, barrier and stronghold who’s greatest usefulness is in helping us to grow stronger in faith and ability to be the Godly steward over the things that He desires to place in your realm of responsibilities.  The Bible tells us that we don't have a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.  But the spirit of fear trains us (by focusing on what’s wrong) to misname the very energy that God has sent to help us.

It’s also about comfort, to release the comfort of the known, and learning to walk by faith into the future promise that lays waiting in the fruit of your gifts, skills and talents.  It’s the coming face to face with that dread of failure, fear of rejection, or anxiety of having to maintain success .  What if it doesn’t work, what are they  going to say.  It’s learning to see your life, naked, raw without the comfort of the excuses, the  woulda’s, coulda’s, shoulda’s, the truth being truly seen through God’s eyes, heart and desires.  To fully embrace truth in our hearts and with our actions without the twisted interference of Satan.  There is a place of safety, a place of protection, a place of refuge.

We will always find this spiritual sanctuary, the joy of being in God's Presence, when we allow ourselves to be led by His Very Own Spirit.

This is something that came to me while shoveling the multiple inches of snow from the driveway.

I have a new personal goal. I'm not comfortable yet reaching out and saying that my goals are things everyone should strive for but this came to me and everyone here can let me know what they think.

Things That Bother Us vs. Prayer Opportunities

Think about your life. Think about the things that "bother" you. Things as little as 12 inches of snow you have to shovel at dawn. That guy who just cut you off on the way to work. Or things are large as corporate corruption and it's place in the recent downswing of our economy. Or that your boss doesn't seem to recognize your hard work and it seems you'll never get that promotion.

It's my ultimate goal as a Christian to walk as closely in Christ's steps as possible. A way for me to do that is by not letting anything bother me.

Let's break down the word bother real quick.

to give trouble to; annoy; pester; worry:

The Bible teaches us that nothing can stand in our way when it comes to reaching God. So in return, we should not let things in our life, no matter how superficial or shallow or empty annoy, pester, or worry us. Nothing in this world should give trouble to us. Simply for the fact that He said that nothing shall stand in our way.

We even hit on it last week with

Luke 10:19 - I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

As a course of action to help fulfill this goal in my life I'm going to start realizing that things that used to bother me are simply prayer opportunities. They are chances for me to either bring myself closer to God or to bring someone else closer.

When someone's actions or words begin to "bother" me, I'm going to mentally step back and realize that this is simply an opportunity for me to grow as a Christian. This is a chance for me to pray for understanding of that person, pray for patience and calmness, pray to help get over whatever is causing some kind of gap between us. Because face it, as much as you may not like the action or words or lifestyle of any single person on this planet. It is our job as Christians to take in all as our brothers and bring them closer to Christ.

So even if it's that guy who just cut you off. You almost wrecked your car, you had to stomp the brakes and your steaming coffee got all over your lap and your temper is as hot as your thighs are now. Mentally step back and realize there may just be a reason that person cut you off. Maybe that person needs a Christian to pray for them and that's how God got one of his followers to perk up and go "Let me pray for that person and make sure God touches them."

Or if you're going through a situation that's a lot tougher and it's "bothering" you. Use that as an opportunity to pray. An opportunity to exercise your faith in God. And by both meanings of the word exercise. Not only be executing your faith in God but by making it stronger through practice. Say to yourself "this isn't going to bother me. I'm going to pray and God will once again reward my faith in Him."

So it is my personal mission to no longer let anything "bother" me. Do I expect to be able to mentally step back from every troublesome situation from the very start and realize each and every new prayer opportunity that arises? No. But I do expect myself to be able to look back every day and see places where I could have. And every day take new steps to realize those prayer opportunities.

WARRIORS CHALLENGE

Questions to ask ourselves.

Are we as men entering our Canaan Land?

Canaan land is where God wants all his men to be!

WHAT IS HOLDING US BACK?

1. Lust, that is based on satisfying self at the expense of God and others[ Love gives, Lust gets]

2. Idolatry, do we as men create a value system in which we esteem something to be more worthy of our devotion, to God? Example, Power, Prestige, Education, Money, Business, Religion, Popularity, Ego, Pornography.

3. Fornication, this incluides every kind of sex sin , sin is still sin in Gods eyes no matter what the world says.

4. Tempting Christ, Lying and cheating in business and demanding that God bless and prosper us is TEMPTING CHRIST. Are we as men demaning that God do that is contrary to his will, or inconsistent with his character? Also are we deman that he provide some way of salvation other then the CROSS?.

5. Murmuring, in its simplest form is nothing more or less then NEGATIVE CONFESSION, Complaining, Criticzing, Faultfinding, Rumoring. 1 Corinthians 5 speaks of the railer, one who is a slanderer, blasphemer, reviler. What comes out our mouth eather speaks [LIFE OR DEATH]

Are we as men falling into the desires, appetites, and passions of this world?

We as men must look at each of these five sin and ask ourselves if we have a problem in this area, going before THE LORD GOD, humbly asking him to show us which of these are holding us from entering our Canaan Land, Confessing them and ask God to forgive us

God wants us men to enter into Canaan, that place of Rest, Blessing, Ability and Authority. But are we still wandering in the wilderness, dying because of Sin,

Never becoming all that GOD intended us to be?

Let's face it, everybody is busy 'doing' life and to add one more task to the 'to do' list may take some over the edge. A lot of that can be attributed to the fast pace that we now live in, and the other is not being as organized as we could be.

Okay, I'm an organization junkie always looking for a better way to streamline my operations. I'm a student of the Franklin Covey system along with DavidAllen's Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology. Both systems work and have environments and people where they work best. A while ago I ran across a revolutionary way to get my inbox completely cleaned out (on my mobile device so far) and I'll never be the same!

The concept is this, sort emails based upon the ones that require a response and the ones that do not. The one's that require action you move to an '@Action' folder that you create and the ones that are just for information you place in a '@Reference' folder.

That?s it, It's your turn. Go ahead download and revolutionize your world!
